El Monitoreo de Protección es una herramienta de análisis de información que el Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados (ACNUR) desarrolla para comprender la situación y necesidades de las personas refugiadas y migrantes en el país. El presente reporte pone su atención en la situación del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito, capital del Ecuador, principal ciudad de acogida para una gran mayoría de refugiados y migrantes venezolanos y colombianos.
El Grupo de Trabajo de Programas de Transferencia Monetaria (GT-PTM) ha encargado a SIMMPLE ANALÍTICA DE DATOS la conducción del presente estudio de mercado para sostener la creación de evidencia que respalde la toma de decisiones de las organizaciones socias del Grupo de Trabajo para Refugiados y Migrantes (GTRM) en Ecuador. Entre ellos: ACNUR, CARE, Cáritas Ecuador, HIAS, NRC, OIM, Plan Internacional Ecuador, y PMA.
El presente estudio de mercado precisa la creación de evidencia que respalde la toma de decisiones de los actores del grupo de trabajo del Programa de Transferencias Monetarias (GT-PTM) del Grupo de Trabajo para Refugiados y Migrantes (GTRM). En este sentido, mediante el uso de encuestas, entrevistas y visitas a territorio, se condujo un levantamiento de información primaria en los 10 cantones del Ecuador en donde existe una mayor concentración de personas refugiadas y migrantes (Esmeraldas, Manta, Tulcán, Guayaquil, Ibarra, Cuenca, Quito, Machala, Lago Agrio y Huaquillas). Los grupos de interés contemplados en el levantamiento de información son: i) población refugiada y migrante; ii) comerciantes y mercados.
La población refugiada y migrante de Venezuela en el Perú constituye una población vulnerable cuyas necesidades de salud han sido progresivamente atendidas a nivel nacional, regional y local. Sin embargo, es posible que la pandemia de COVID-19 haya no solo limitado estas acciones sino empeorado la situación general de esta población. Ante ello, la OPS/OMS ha desarrollado el presente estudio mixto cuanti-cualitativo para describir su situación socioeconómica, e identificar sus principales necesidades y riesgos en la salud en tres distritos de Lima Metropolitana. Como conclusiones generales, la población migrante y refugiada de Venezuela en el Perú representa una población expuesta a diversos problemas de salud relacionados con el propio proceso migratorio, las condiciones socioeconómicas en las que viven y el actual contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19. Adicionalmente, sus posibilidades de acceder a servicios de salud de calidad y de forma oportuna se ven limitadas por barreras administrativas asociadas con carencias en la documentación regular, discriminación en los establecimientos de salud, falta de tiempo y dinero, y maltratos por parte del personal de salud.

Evaluación Rápida Interagencial (ERI) tiene el objetivo de contar con información detallada sobre los perfiles y las necesidades de los refugiados y migrantes en la ciudad de Pedernales (Provincia de Manabí) y así fortalecer la coordinación de la respuesta operativa. La ERI se llevó a cabo entre el 25 y 26 de julio con el apoyo de 6 organizaciones socias del Grupo de Trabajo para Refugiados y Migrantes (GTRM).
